GOALS

  • Students will also record this information in their recycling notebook.

  • Students will then use the information their personal recycling notebook to develop a wiki page that can be accessed by the public.

  • Working collaboratively within a group, students will develop questions to interview a guest speaker from a local landfill to learn what materials can be recycled and how people can start recycling at home.

Before-class preparation:

Students will have feedback on their graphic organizers and recycling notebooks. Students will be placed in groups determined by the teacher.
A wiki page will have been created for each collaborative group. Each group will provide the information for their wiki page.

Students will review individual feedback provided by teacher

Students will be placed into groups for collaboration project. The groups will be heterogeneously designed. The groups will also be composed of members of varying ability levels. Teacher will review the collaborative rubric with students.


Collaboratively students will develop questions to interview a guest speaker from a local landfill.


Students will interview a guest speaker from a local landfill to learn what materials can be recycled and how people can start recycling at home. Students will record this information in their recycling notebooks. Teacher will video the interview for students to use in presentation.

Collaboratively students will combine all information acquired through individual research and information received from the guest speaker to develop a wiki page that can be viewed by the public
